The Dead at their peak but then the double whammy of "we can reduce the fun" and "I will bum you out" those songs were so weird and low key they became burn breaks. Shoreline was a rock palace of epic proportions China>Rider>Playing

First time I've really "heard" this Bird Song.
I had an old sbd. My friend who attended this show identified this Bird Song as one in a progression of landmark Bay Area versions throughout '89, but the sbd did very little for me. Just didn't move me at all.
This audience recording takes care of that. Jerry, Bob and Brent spiral around with near-perfect unity while Phil and the drummers pump along. Jerry brings out the sustain for time bending fun, and the jam rolls on about 2 minutes past the usual.
Captivating performance here.
Also of note, Franklin's Tower rolls straight into Walkin' Blues on a fluid pulse.
Thanks for the upload!
